Belal is a 24-year-old center back who currently plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) side Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Originally from London, Ontario, he grew up playing soccer in his hometown before playing University soccer with University of Western Ontario.   In 2020, Belal signed a contract with Werder Bremen II of the Regionalliga in Germany. He quickly impressed in his first season and was named the club captain during the 2021-2022 season.   In January 2021, Belal received his first call up to the Canadian Men’s National Team for their winter training camp.   In 2022, he made the jump to Bundesliga 2 when he signed for Magdeburg. He was then called up to the Syrian National Team where he made his debut against Jordan.   In 2024, Belal went on trial with the Whitecaps during their preseason in Spain. After an impressive few weeks, Belal put pen to paper on a contract with the Whitecaps and completed a transfer from Magdeburg to Vancouver.
